Instead of a normal american handshake, the argentines greet each other and say good bye with a kiss on the cheek. It does not matter if you are male or female, old or young, stranger of friend. Even males kiss other males. Sometimes when Argentines try to act north american they just shake your hand.
In a normal kiss, you touch your right cheeks and make a kissing sound. You do not actually kiss them on the cheek.
It was only wierd for a little bit, then it becomes normal. I like the fact that in this culture you kiss someone on the cheek instead of shaking someones hand. A handshake seems like you want to keep at least a arms length away from the other person, but a kiss makes it feel like the person cares to know you.
