Paraguay Road Trip Day 6

October 16
On Wednesday we took a tour of the Itaipu Dam. The Itaipu Dam was the largest power plant in the world, until China built a larger one in 2008.

This is where the water would have come out it their was a flood.

After the tour we went shopping in Ciudad del Este. From there we drove through Brazil to go back into Argentina.
We were only in Brazil for about 15 minutes but, this is proof that I touched a tree in Brazil.

We stayed at the Hotel Cataratas for the night.

Paraguay Road Trip Day 2

          October 12
On Friday, the second day of our trip, we drove to Clorinda, Formosa, Argentina.
We filled out information for our visas in Clorinda.
When we arrived at the border, they would not let us bring our van through.

After we had lost all hope of crossing the border, we crossed with the help of Benjamin Franklin. Then we had some good food at this restaurant.

Football

Football (soccer) is the most popular sport in Argentina. Some of the best football players come from Argentina, including Messi.  Argentina won the FIFA world cup twice and won the Olympic tournament in 2004 and 2008.
Each city has their own football team, some have two. Rosario has two teams Newell and Central. They also have a lot of younger leagues. Half of the city is Newell and the other half is Central. When you go down the street in the Newell part of the city all the hydro and stop sign poles are painted with the colors of the team, so is most of the graffiti. The same thing happens for Central.
Earl was given a Newell jacket. Those who cheer for Newell are sure to compliment him. Those who cheer for Central frown upon it.
Football games are very dangerous to go to, especially if you don't know the language. If you go to a game you must be prepared to be pushed and shoved around. If the wrong team wins big riots accure. Sometimes knives are included in these fights.
